The regular meeting of the Chelsea Fire District was opened at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, August 14, 2017 in the District Office.  Present were Comms. Brickner, Flower, Sunseri, VanTassel, Secty Y. Tompkins and Chief Ryan McCluskey.

Absent:  Comm. Kearns, Treas. Lynne Sheppard

 

The minutes of the July meeting was accepted as read on a motion by Comm.VanTassel and second by Comm. Sunseri.

 

The Treasurer’s Report was accepted on a motion by Comm. VanTassel second by Comm. Sunseri and showed the following balances:
Checking - $11,301.62;
Aux. Checking - $1,125.20;
Gen. Fund - $227,817.87;
Bldg. Fund - $347,066.55;
Equip. Fund - $282,042.21.

The bills were approved via Abstract of Audited Vouchers (list attached dated 7/7 through 7/24/17 totaling $9,527.10) and (8/7 through 8/25/17 totaling $5,464.12). Carried.  All bank statements were checked and OK. The Budget workshop meetings are scheduled for Monday, 8/22 and 8/29/17 at 6 pm.

COMMUNICATIONS:

Request to use Station 2 on Sunday, August 27, 2017 by Jim Baisley for birthday party.

Assoc. of Fire Districts Fall Leadership Workshop information.

Fire District Affairs.

Request for information from lawyers for past member.

COMMITTEES:

Comm. Flower – nothing to report except Board to meet with Jehovah’s Wednesday, August 16 at 6:30 p.m.

Comm. Sunseri – almost finished with specs for chief’s car. Chain saw & box. 
Brady cheapest – approx.. $500.
Comm. Flower made a motion to purchase, second by Comm. VanTassel. Carried.

Working on tablet mounts and gloves have been ordered.

Comm. VanTassel – FP the same. By-Laws almost done.

Comm. Brickner – all OK.

                                                                                               

OLD BUSINESS:

Membership – Comm. VanTassel made a motion to accept the new active members: Lawrence Hawkins and Theodore Earley, second by Comm. Flower. Carried.

NEW BUSINESS:

Approval for use of Station 2 on Sunday, August 27 by Jim Baisley was approved.

Treavor Dhalla from Hughsonville Fire District was approved for active duty when in the Chelsea Fire District.

Request a 15 yard dumpster for station 1 cleanup the first weekend of September.
